English Paper Piecing – learn how to make blocks that would normally require a lot of set-in seams the easy way. English paper piecing is a way to avoid the set-in seams and have seams that match perfectly. This way of making quilts is used traditionally for Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilts with a hexagon shape but can be used for so much more – hexagons, diamonds, kites, elongated hexagons, etc. I will provide paper pieces to play with. One little warning – once you start doing English paper piecing you will be hooked! Taught by MaryLou Mojonnier.

Reserve a spot on the 1st Saturday of any month to work on things you would like tutoring in. There will be a $10 charge for each month, but you will get that $10 back in a merchandise credit for that day. You will forfeit your $10.00 if you do not come and do not cancel two weeks before the class day.

The way the day will work is that we will have Mary Lou Mojonnier available from 10a-1p. You bring in a project that you want to work on and the teacher will help you with anything you need help with within reason. We ask that you try to let us know a few days before, what project you might be working on, so the teacher can have her thoughts on your project for that day.

Things that might be good to get help in are:

Hand Piecing English Paper Piecing Hand Appliqué The hand stitches for binding (corners) Hand Embroidery Stitches

And let us know if there is something else you would like help with and we’ll see if Mary Lou or anyone else knows how to help you with it.
