Yarn Worsted or Aran weight yarn (16 – 18 st per 4 inch) light colored yarn . Small separate ball of yarn.
Needles appropriate for yarn, a 24” circular needle 1 or 2 sizes smaller than the needle used to make swatches

Homework You will need to make the following 3 swatches (Swatch 4 is optional):
Swatches 1 & 2
CO 28 st work in stockinette (alternating rows of knit and purl) for 8”, BO
CO 28 st work in stockinette for 5” ending ready for a RS row. Form crew neck as follows:
Next Row: Knit across 11 stitches. Attach a new ball of yarn, and bind off the center 6 stitches with the new yarn.
Knit to the end of the row
Note: You will now be working 2 sides at once, each with a separate ball of yarn
Next Row: Purl both sides
Next Row (RS): Knit to last 4 sts on first half, k2tog, knit 2.
Swatch 4 (OPTIONAL)
CO 36 stitches, work in garter (knit ever row) for 7”, BO
