Come join us for some fun in learning how to sew raw-edge applique, a considerably less intimidating substitute for traditional applique techniques! We will be using Heather French’s pattern French Rose. This is a great project to use up scraps from your stash for the flowers and the backgrounds. Taught by Wanda Earley. |

English Paper Piecing – learn how to make blocks that would normally require a lot of set-in seams the easy way. English paper piecing is a way to avoid the set-in seams and have seams that match perfectly. This way of making quilts is used traditionally for Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilts with a hexagon shape but can be used for so much more – hexagons, diamonds, kites, elongated hexagons, etc. I will provide paper pieces to play with. Learn a new applique technique with no raw edges than can be hand or machine sewn. This will be a great technique to use in other projects. You will also learn how to draft a leaf from your own garden, into a fun applique pattern. Taught by Regina Carter. |

Join us for an informational make & take session on how to make a fabric decoupaged floorquilt - no sewing experience is necessary. Fabric floorquilts are very durable, hold up to high traffic areas, are easy to clean, and are perfect for the allergy-free, or pet-filled home. In this class, you’ll learn about the tools and materials for making floorquilts & other projects and will begin a small project to take home for completion. All in-class materials will be supplied. The log cabin is one of the most loved and most versatile of the traditional quilt blocks. Learn how color placement affects your block and how block placement impacts your design. You will end up beginning the blocks for a lap size quilt that will be quick and easy to finish up on your own. Taught by Maxine Moore. |
