70,273 Project Workshop

Join us in a Sunday Quilt Workshop, August 11, 1pm-3:30pm. All skill levels are welcome. This 70,273 Project event is part of a worldwide collaborative art project to commemorate the lives of disabled people murdered by the German Nazis 1940-41.  It’s a solemn project but allows you to participate in a lovely quilt while giving to this important remembrance. See  for a full story of the goodness these quilts are putting into the world.

The readymade “Red XX on White Blocks” (Quilt #599) will become a quilt top during this Workshop.  We plan to pull the tables together in the classroom area as a large design surface and use antique linens, doilies and cream fat quarters to help join our blocks.

We will also provide materials for you to create your own commemorative project block during this time. Bring what’s easy for you, portable sewing machines, hand sewing materials but nothing is required except your imagination.

Quilt #588, commemorating 87 people, is hanging at Intown Quilters.

There is no fee for this event. Please Email us if you plan to attend.

Margaret Williams, Jeanne Hewell-Chambers and Debra Steinmann
