Inside IQ: A Newsletter for the IQ Crew

Nov. 19, 2015

Congratulations to Nia on the birth of her son! Ashar made a slightly earlier-than-expected arrival on Monday, 11/16, at 11:48 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great! Nia sends her thanks for all the love and thoughtful gifts received at her surprise baby shower last week.

We are open regular hours Sunday-Tuesday of next week but lightly staffed since so many folks are out and it's typically a very slow week for the shop. On Wednesday, 11/25, and Friday, 11/27, we will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

There is information about our holiday wish list program we're doing for this year included in this week's shop newsletter:

This holiday season, let the elves of IQ help you get exactly the gift you want! Our wish list program makes it easier for your friends and family to pick out something you'll really love. Here's what you need to know:

        1. Fill out a wish list! Come by the shop, tell us you'd like to create a wish list and have fun picking out your dream fabrics (or kits or books or notions or ...). As an added bonus, you'll also be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate -- just for creating your list! If you prefer shopping online, just browse through our website and send us an email with your name and the items you'd like on your list. We'll get it filed for you that way, too!

        2. Tell your friends and family to come in and check out your wish list. Every time someone* asks to see your list, your name will be entered into the drawing for that gift certificate an additional time. The more people you tell about your wish list, the better chances of winning! (One additional entry per wish list requester.)

        3. To help out the gift givers, too, any items* they purchase off your wish list will be 10 percent off. (*Gift certificates and classes are excluded.)

The Wish-list 411: Each "wish list" should have the SKU number (either from the fabric or else the barcode for an individual item) as well as the title/description and the price, so that it's easier for us to find those items later on if someone comes looking for them. We will keep the lists in a folder or binder (in sleeves if need be) so that they're easy to find when someone asks. On the back of each list, we'll keep a record of how many people ask to see it (along with their names, in case one person comes in like 12 times), and check off items that are purchased (in case multiple people are buying off one person's list, they won't get multiples of one item).

Classes just added:
We are doing a bunch of one-hour, $10 classes with quick gift ideas in December. Many of them are technique classes and there's even one for kids. Please read this week's shop newsletter to get all the details.

New to IQ:
Restocked some notions, thread and patterns, but nothing big this week.

Not really new but we finished barcoding all of the interfacings this week.

Coming soon:
Michael Miller line featuring arrows, feathers and tribal prints is due in by the end of the week. (Mary wants it all.)
