The new Joann opens at Suburban Plaza next week. While it's good that we know it's there and open, please really think before sending customers over there from the shop. The Joanns in the world cultivate a discount shopping mentality that is at odds with the long-term sustainability of independent quilt shops, which carry many similar products. Sam Hunter at Hunters Design Studio addresses the issue in a blog post this week, which is well worth the read. (Click the underlined text to read it.)
Sarah has begun working on the shop schedule through the summer because of events, summer camps and previously submitted time-off requests. If you have been thinking about taking time off between now and Aug. 1, please be aware that no further time off requests can be accommodated for these dates: June 1-19 and July 1-10.
After a little hiccup with our bar code printer, we are back up and running with bar code stickers. Yay!
