We have marked down the Kokka fabrics (the linen/cotton and double gauze, mostly) from Japan 50 percent through Sunday. No additional discounts apply (no end of bolt) and 1 yard minimum cuts. The fabrics have been discounted in the POS so the sale prices are already applied. Information about the sale was sent in this week's newsletter and the markdowns are available to website customers, as well.
Holly Days takes place at A Scarlet Thread this weekend (Friday and Saturday) and we will host the event next weekend (Friday and Saturday). Please refer to our newsletter for more details about the Christmas card (Holly Days passport), finishing coupons and prizes.
Please do not submit any time off requests for Labor Day weekend (Friday, 9/2,-Sunday 9/4).
Fonde's summer camp takes place next week from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.
If you sell a customer a pre-cut and bagged panel, please make sure to liberate the comic book board from the package so it can be re-used.
Please do not use the red and white chevron bags in garbage cans. Use the brown ones from the mail basket for garbage cans.
Along those same lines...we really need to do our best to keep down our costs where we can. Emptying trash into one bag at the end of the night, being really conscious of cutting and ringing up purchases, keeping the downstairs AC set higher if the classroom is not in use, etc.
If you ever have to cut fabric for kits and rolls, please be conscientious of your work and make sure it is neat and exact, with fabric straightened on grain as much as possible prior to cutting. When some of our recent kits/rolls were packaged, the person working on them found some of the cuts were not straight and the sizes were not exact -- something that is really obvious when rolling fabric and can potentially affect the outcome of the project. Every employee should be able to cut fabric properly and to the exact specifications.
