We will also extend this offer to those working on a Quilts of Valor quilts. Ask us about them at the shop if you don't know what they are or click here to read about them. You are welcome to drop quilts off with us or any donation of fabric, quilt tops or money and we will get it to our local chapter. The organization can always use the donation of quilting services, too, so if you are willing to quilt for them, let us know. Happy Veterans Day!

Trying to figure out what to make so you can take part in our Handmade Holiday Showcase at IQF&Y? We've got a few ideas -- check out these patterns, which we have at the shop. It's so easy to take part in the Showcase:
* Choose a pattern from the shop or even one you create (and can write up instructions for us).
* Purchase your project supplies here to enter.
* You can make as many as you want but they need to be made with current shop fabric.
* Turn in your gifts items by Sunday, 11/26/17.
* The Handmade Holiday Showcase is open for all ages -- what a great way to get the kids involved!
All your amazing handmade holiday creations will be put on display for voting through 12/10 (you'll get them back after 12/11 and still have plenty of time to gift for the holidays). We'll award prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place viewers' choice ($25, $15 and $10 shop credit). Everyone who comes in to cast a vote between 11/28 and 12/10 will have her/his ballot put in a drawing, so the more days you vote, the more chances you have to win. Get planning and head in to be a part of our handmade challenge!
Do you have young people out of school in November and December for holiday breaks? We are working on some classes that will add some crafting fun to their break and even help them work on some of their own handmade, DIY holiday gifts for friends and family. Are you interested in classes before Thanksgiving (11/21 and 11/22) and then again the week before Christmas? Let us know! If you know of things they would like to work on, let us know that, too! We could make little zipper pouches (great gifts for all kinds of folks), pillowcases, PJ bottoms, crochet scarves, pom pom garlands, tote bags and the list goes on. Let’s organize to get your youth tapping into their creative gift giving this year!
Maybe it's the change in weather but we've been whipping up lots of new samples for the shop this month. Our new Ghastlies Parquet quilt kit features those Alexander Henry favorites in a throw-sized project. We used a mix of Alison Glass and Libs Elliott brights with Moda Grunge for a Lisa the Unicorn wall hanging (which also could be a pillow). And the Blimey crochet hat pattern from One Loop Shy Designs looks fantastic in our Wonderland March Hare yarns from Frabjous Fibers.
Don't miss out on some of the fantastic classes we've got coming up in November and December:
* Sewing Studio with Mary Abreu
* Paper Piecing Studio with Wanda Earley

Thursday Sit & Knit
Thursdays 10 am-2 pm
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! You can also learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Then, you'll get that $5 back as a credit on your account after your class.

Come join our paper piecing teacher Wanda Earley as she leads a monthly paper piece sit-and-sew club. We will get together and work on foundation paper pieced projects. This is the time where you can bring in any project that you are working on or want to begin working on and we can help/encourage/get inspired by each other. This group will meet from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of the month. The club is $20/month.
Long Time Gone
Finished quilt size: ~66" x67"
Meets the second Saturday of the month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. starting April 8, 2017
Long Time Gone is one of our favorite patterns from Jen Kingwell’s October 2016 Quilt Market release and we’re excited to offer it as a Block-of-the-Month program in 2017! Jen’s penchant for scrappy quilt blocks arranged in unconventional settings have been a hit here at IQ and we think Long Time Gone will quickly be a must-sew quilt for you. This machine-pieced quilt includes a variety of scrappy blocks, mixing bold prints with low-volume background fabrics.
Sandy Stites will lead this group, which will meet on the second Saturday of the month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. starting April 8, 2017. Each month, participants will receive tips for creating that month’s block(s).
By Hand-the Art of Slow Quilting
Sometimes it is good to take a break from doing everything fast. Handwork is a great way to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. When you do handwork, you can often take it with you to take advantage of times when you are just waiting for something else, you can actually talk to friends and family while working on your projects, and it is relaxing. We will get together and work on quilting projects by hand - hand piecing, English paper piecing, hand appliqué, hand quilting. This is the time where you can bring in any project that you are working on or want to begin working on and we can help/encourage/get inspired by each other. This group will meet on the 3rd Saturday from 9:30am-1pm. $20 per month.
| We have our IQ loyalty program, which is good for 20% off all regularly priced merchandise. Since launching our new computerized point-of-sale system, we are changing from paper cards to an electronic rewards system. No more forgetting your cards at home! We are happy to add your existing IQ cards to our system; just bring them in with your name and email address written on them.
We do occasionally give out coupons during shop hop and other special events like quilt shows. Coupons cannot be used on special orders or sale items, cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.
