March is a huge month for us at IQF&Y. Not only are we kicking off both Golden Days and the Kaffe Mystery Quilt (one spot left), but we've added bolts and bolts of Tula Pink and Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics, as well as even more Bogg Bags (already selling fast).
Plus next week marks the return of the annual The Greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop, which means we're gearing up to debut some amazing new quilts. We will also be demonstrating the Folded Corner Clipper Tool during Shop Hop -- and you'll even be able to save 20% off the tool at IQF&Y through the four day event. You won't want to miss out on our own "all-star" guests during Shop Hop. Thursday, 3/22, brings Angela Gubler of The Green Apricot Studio (sshhhh....it's her birthday that day) and Friday's guests will be the fabulous long-arm quilter Regina Carter along with her partners in crime, Taffy McLaughlin and Mary Lou Mojonnier. We'd include a picture of Taffy with her fantastic shop hop quilt, but it has to remain a surprise for now so make sure you get in here to see it next Thursday! We can't wait to see you!
Tula Pink went all out for her 25th fabric collection and we are loving the results! Her All Stars are now at IQF&Y and they're already flying off the shelves. The line inlcudes stripes and pom poms, along with a colorful range of animal prints. If you are among the #tulatroops, this line is a must-have but it's sure to be a hit with quilters and sewists of all kinds with its vibrant palette and whimsical characters. Shop online or visit us to pick out your favorites in person!
We're kicking off Jen Kingwell's Golden Days Block of the Month this Saturday, 3/17, with Mary Lou Mojonnier. This quilt can be stitched by hand (Jen's favorite technique) or by machine and meets on the third Saturday of the month. Last year's program sold out and we only have a limited number of spots left in this year's Golden Days. You can click here to see more details and sign up.
We have a new Block of the Month coming to IQF&Y starting April 14th
and meeting every month on the 2nd Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Sandy's Solid Modern Sampler is made using blocks from some well-known pattern designers and our favorite Free Spirit solids, creating this fun take on a traditional 12-block sampler. This is the perfect BOM for beginners to advanced quilters to tackle. The quilted and bound quilt will be hanging in the shop later this week for you to see in person.
Are you ready for a knitting adventure that will take you through space and time? One of our customers decided he wanted to make a Dr. Who scarf (as worn by Tom Baker in the BBC series) and we thought others would enjoy making one, too. Come hang out while working on your very own Dr. Who scarf or the project of your choosing on Sunday afternoons on 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6 and 5/20. If you want to make one and need the yarn for your project, be sure to check out our selection of Crisp yarns, which we've stocked in the Dr. Who palette!

Thursday Sit & Knit
Thursdays 10 am-2 pm
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting. (We recommend bringing a snack so you can pop downstairs for a quick bit to stay energized for a full day of stitching.)
Learn to Knit
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. We've found tis is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.

Golden Days Block of the Month
We've had a blast with Delilah, Jen Kingwell's 2017 template-of-the-month quilt program, so we immediately signed up for her 2018 program, Golden Days. Golden Days features laser-cut acrylic and mylar templates. Participants receive the templates and block instructions each month over the course of a year. As you know form last year, every shop has limited spots for this program (which begins in March 2018), so don't wait too long to sign up. Read all the details and sign up here.
Paper Piecing & More Club

Join Wanda Earley on her journey through the Urban Owls quilt designed by Australian pattern designer, Wendy Williams, starting the first Tuesday in January. Urban Owls mixes together a variety of techniques, including foundation paper-piecing, appliqué, machine piecing and there's even room to embellish with embroidery or crazy quilt style stitching. Read all the details and sign up here and order (excluded from the end-of-year sale) your Urban Owls pattern here.By Hand-the Art of Slow Quilting
Sometimes it is good to take a break from doing everything fast. Handwork is a great way to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. When you do handwork, you can often take it with you to take advantage of times when you are just waiting for something else, you can actually talk to friends and family while working on your projects, and it is relaxing. We will get together and work on quilting projects by hand - hand piecing, English paper piecing, hand appliqué, hand quilting. This is the time where you can bring in any project that you are working on or want to begin working on and we can help/encourage/get inspired by each other. This group will meet on the 3rd Saturday from 9:30am-1pm. $5 per month.
| We have our IQ loyalty program, which is good for 20% off all regularly priced merchandise. Since launching our new computerized point-of-sale system, we are changing from paper cards to an electronic rewards system. No more forgetting your cards at home! We are happy to add your existing IQ cards to our system; just bring them in with your name and email address written on them.
We do occasionally give out coupons during shop hop and other special events like quilt shows. Coupons cannot be used on special orders or sale items, cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.
