March 28, 2018

Happy Wednesday to you!

In case you missed it, last week was the Greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop and we had fun with out "Oceans of Notions" theme. The shop is still decorated (we love the decorations so much, we think we will keep them up awhile) so come check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Our fantastic "Beach Glass" quilt made by Taffy McLaughlin and quilted by Regina Carter, is front and center when you walk in the door. Next to it we have another great rendition of this quilt called "Beach Glass in the Sand" made by Sandy Stites and quilted by Peggy McIntire. Both quilts are made using one pack go 10" squares and one pack of 5" squares all of which you can find in the shop. We have some other fantastic rainbow samples in the shop like the "Kaffe Rainbow Squares" quilt Pogo made, the batik "Sock it to Me" quilt Sandy made and the "Jelly Roll Rug" Mary made.

Knitting/Crocheting Classes

Thursday Sit & Knit

Thursdays 10 am-2 pm
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting. (We recommend bringing a snack so you can pop downstairs for a quick bit to stay energized for a full day of stitching.)

Learn to Knit
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. We've found tis is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
