Did you know we have a few guilds that meet at IQF&Y? A guild is the perfect way to make friends who share your craft interests, but also a great way to get inspiration and support, and they are open to all levels of quilters, even those who have not begin yet. This evening is the regularly scheduled Phoenix Guild, which meets at 7 pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Tonight is their spring potluck, so if you'd like to come tonight, bring a little something to share. On the first Wednesday of every month there is a little First Wednesday of the Month Guild that meets at 10:30 am to sit and sew for much of the day and people can stay. On the 4th Tuesday evening of the month, The Greater Atlanta Modern Quilt Guild meets at 7 pm.
We are still working out all the details of Shannon Brinkley's visit to IQF&Y this September. Be sure to email us and we'll add you to our priority notification list (the list is quite long already) to get the first chance at signing up for her classes.
Mark your calendar for this year'r Row by Row Experience! This year's theme is Sew Musical and the event kicks off 6/21 with some all new Row shapes to collect as you travel this summer. We've got a cool Row this year that pays homage to a well-known local band -- stay tuned to see what's coming!
Our classes are a great way to learn a new skill or technique and we've got some fun ones coming up soon. We also have several teachers who can schedule private lessons for sewing, quilting, knitting and crochet. Email us for more information.

Cast on to Knit (Continental)
Saturday, 6/9/18, 10 am-noon $30
Start with the basics in our Cast on to Knit class. Learn how to cast on and the knit stitch for the Continental style of knitting. If you’ve never knitted before, this is the class for you! (Also a great refresher class if you haven't knitted for awhile.) Many crocheters find it easier to knit Continental, which involves holding the yarn in the left hand instead of the right hand (English style knitting). Practice the technique and make a washcloth or continue knitting until you have a scarf. You'll leave the class with your first project in progress. Supplies included. Taught by Mary Abreu.
Learn to Knit
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. We've found tis is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
