We were excited to see the newest patterns coming from Flying Parrot Quilts so when local designer Sylvia Schaefer offered a trunk show, we couldn't say "yes" fast enough! We've loved having her quilts and patterns in the shop and the newest additions to her line -- Microscope Mania, Circuit Board, Tiny Jewel and Pinwheel Rings -- have us picking fabrics and planning quilts. Sandy's already working on a shop sample of Circuit Board that will be hanging at the shop. The FPQ trunk show will only be here for a limited time -- stop in soon to see it in person and pick up the patterns!
Mary Lou will not attend today's Sit-and-Stitch. You're still welcome to come and work on your handwork projects, though!
It looks like rain is in the forecast for the next few days -- and that means it's a great time for crafting! We've got some great classes coming up to help you expand your crafty repertoire, whether you're ready to pick up needle or hook and yarn to start knitting or crocheting, embracing the stretch and sewing your first knit tee, or even casting on your first pair of socks. We also have several teachers who can schedule private lessons for sewing, quilting, knitting and crochet. Email us for more information. And don't miss out on these classes:
* Beginning Crochet
* Cast on to Knit (Continental)
* Knit Tee
* Beginning Quilt Making
* Sock Knitting 101
* Knitting Studio
* Email to find out about our summer options for young folks!
We are still working out all the details of Shannon Brinkley's visit to IQF&Y this September. Be sure to email us and we'll add you to our priority notification list (the list is quite long already) to get the first chance at signing up for her classes.

Learn to Knit
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. We've found tis is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
