Oct. 12, 2018

Fall has finally arrived in Atlanta and we couldn't be happier. There's something about that crisp air and turning of the leaves that inspires us to start crafting something new. Our line up of classes this fall provide abundant opportunities to learn something new.

Our No. 1 class here at IQF&Y is Beginning Quiltmaking, which covers all the essentials to help you make your first quilt. If you or someone you know have been thinking about learning how to make a quilt, you won't want to miss our next session of this great class. Lisa Kaupp is leading our Saturday series, which kicks off 10/20/18.

Another favorite class here is Casey Green's Fabric Painting/Dyeing, which returns to IQF&Y for one last session in 2018. This class fills up quickly each time we offer it and it's no wonder. Casey is a dynamic teacher who loves sharing her tips, tricks and techniques for working with a variety of paints, dyes and materials for embellishing fabric.

Of course we love bringing new classes to you, too, and this fall is no exception. We've added three new topics that we think will inspire you. Wanda Earley is building on the skills from her Introduction to Hand Embroidery class with a new Hand Embroidery 102. Learn some new stitches as well as an overview of color tinting. Our new Honey Bee collage quilt is the foundation for our Collage Wall Hanging Quilt class with Chrissy Weeks, a two-part class inspired by the collage patterns from Laura Heine/Fiberworks. And don't miss an exciting new English paper piecing project class with Mary Lou Mojonnier: Wildflower Bouquet EPP. Mary Lou has taken a traditional block and added a punch of color (and maybe a little fussy cutting) that will blow you away.

A great way to get a little help with a project you're working on is with one of our studio format classes. Each session is focused on a specific craft -- knitting, quilt making or garment sewing -- and includes an experienced teacher who can help you tackle your pattern. Sign up now for Knitting StudioQuilting Studio or Wardrobe Sewing Studio.

   Check our
calendar for all the current offerings at IQF&Y! We also have several teachers who can schedule private lessons for sewing, quilting, knitting and crochet. Email us for more information.

     Please note:
We have added a $1 charge for all our Sit & Knit sessions so that we may be able to collect a list of who will be coming ahead of time (the system won't let us take sign-ups for free) and that way we can let you know if something happens to prevent us having a teacher therePlease do register for the specific session you want to come to, to let us know if you will be joining.

If you want to stay in the know about the latest and greatest at IQF&Y, be sure to "like" and follow our
Facebook page. It's the best way to stay in the loop!

     Happy stitching,
     Sarah & the IQF&Y crew!

P.S. We've discounted some of our quilt kits, as well as our Bias Rib Loungers from Wearables by XCVI. If you've had your eye on our Loominous RebelSnow Leopard TribalSavannah Cozy, Savannah Habitat, or Nature Highlights quilt kits, get one at 30% off before it's gone. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
