Nov. 26, 2018

    Spend Cyber Monday with Intown Quilters Fabric & Yarn (the only way to shop with us, since we are closed Mondays) and save 25% with the coupon code BF2018. It's a great way to pick up something you missed while shopping our Black Friday sale! We have some great gift-giving items on our Holiday 2018 section of the website -- and fabric or yarn always make a nice gift for yourself or those you love, of course. Share the Cyber Monday love with your favorite little quilt shop and shop on!

    Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and we are hoping you will put some of your savings from shopping holiday sales towards charity giving. If you're looking for a cause to support, we have a few special ones we'd love to share:

    1. Leslie Piper is working on some little hand-work sewing kits for the 136 members of the Ridge Quilters' Guild
in Paradise, CA. Most of the members lost their homes in the wildfire that destroyed most of the town. The thought is that having some English Paper Piecing handwork to work on during downtime might be nice until they can get new homes with new machines and stashes again. We will put the money donated to this cause towards ordering little snips, EPP papers, thread, and then put them together with fabric from the shop into little sewing care packages. There is also drive to collect quilts going on to try to send each of these quilters a quilt so if you have a spare quilt you'd like to donate, bring it by.

    2. Our friend Elizabeth Beck has started a company called Tandem Quilting Co. to help employ local refugee women sewing and quilting. We have employed these women to make our Project Bags and some clothing and would like to gather some supplies for them to help them have a nice holiday season.

   3. My good friend Jamie Sprague has given much of her time to rescuing dogs (and occasionally cats) over the years through herDoggie Harmony animal rescue. She helped us get surgery for the little orange cat we found hurt behind the shop last year and helps find fosters and then vet and feed many rescues while they wait for their forever homes. We always wish we could help her more and are choosing to make her rescue one of our Giving Tuesday charities.

     If you'd like to donate to any of our causes, click HERE to donate anything you like and we will put matching point in your IQF&Y account in the register for anything you donate.

    4. Last, but not least, is Toys for Tots. We are again collecting Toys for Tots at the shop this year. Please consider gathering nice, new toys (unwrapped) to bring in to the shop to donate to this program.

    We've planned some fun gift-giving themed classes over the next several weeks to help you get handmade gifts ready for the holidays and they are coming up so don't miss out on dedicated time to get some DIY gifts made! Are few are:

    * Microwave Safe Bowl Holders

    * Reusable Bowl Covers
    * Snappy Little Wallet

    Interested in a one-on-one experience? We also have several teachers who can schedule private lessons for sewing, quilting, knitting and crochet. Email us for more information.

     Happy stitching,

     Sarah & the IQF&Y crew!

Knitting/Crocheting Classes

Please note: We have added a $1 charge for all our Sit & Knit sessions so that we may be able to collect a list of who will be coming ahead of time (the system won't let us take sign-ups for free) and that way we can let you know if something happens to prevent us having a teacher there. Please do register for the specific session you want to come to, to let us know if you will be joining.

Tuesday evening Sit & Stitch (Yarn)
Every Tuesday, 5-8 pm $1
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! Please sign up to let us know you will be at the sit & knit.

Thursday Sit & Stitch (Yarn)

Sundays, 12/16 & 12/30/18, 3-4:30 pm $45
Do you have a knitting project you'd like to get started on but feel just a little intimidated about jumping in? What about one you'd like to get finished but can't figure out exactly what the pattern is telling you, or can't find the time to make yourself get it done? Knitting Studio might be the class you need! Three hours of help (split into two 90 minute sessions) from an accomplished and knowledgeable teacher. Bring your pattern/project and let Allison Adams help you get started, motivated or finished.

Sweater Knit-along
Sunday, 11/25/18 (more dates to come), 1-4 pm
Join our "Secret Sweater Stitching Society*" on the fourth Sunday of the month to hang out with other sweater knitters! (*It's not really a secret.)

Learn to Knit
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for only $5 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. We are happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.

COUPONS
     We have our IQ loyalty program, which is good for 20% off all regularly priced merchandise. Since launching our new computerized point-of-sale system, we are changing from paper cards to an electronic rewards system. No more forgetting your cards at home! We are happy to add your existing IQ cards to our system; just bring them in with your name and email address written on them.

     We do occasionally give out coupons during shop hop and other special events like quilt shows. Coupons cannot be used on special orders or sale items, cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.
