Wrap up a crafty holiday with these great gifts from Intown Quilters Fabric & Yarn

Dec. 18, 2018

The days are really flying by now that we're only a week out from Christmas day. I don't know about you but I'm still racing around to get gifts for all the people on my list. Of course, I don't have to go too far since there are so many options here in the shop that are making it easy to check off my list!

Who doesn't need useful kitchen items? Our hottest sellers this holiday season have been the Hot Stuff Oven Mitt (and refills), Betty Bowl Bonnet Covers and Coaster Ride. These are great gifts that can be made over and over again with fabrics that coordinate with home decor or even just holiday accents. We've got a few more of the patterns and extras on the way so you can whip up a few, too!

Speaking of home decor ... these sassy cotton tea towels have been a big hit. They're a great size (which is always a plus when it comes to towels) and are sure to get a chuckle from the recipient. Moda's 2019 calendar tea towel is practical and useful. We've seen cute wall hangings on Instagram made with them -- what a great idea for spicing up your sewing space!

Our Feza Gradient Baby blanket kits are one of our top yarn kits of 2018 and it's no wonder. The included pattern makes a lovely, useful blanket that's machine washable (as all baby things should be). It would be great paired with a gift certificate for our Knitting 101 class!

These mini skeins of sock yarn from Knitted Wit include enough yarn to accent toes and heels of your favorite sock pattern. Of course, they're also great for adding pops of color in any knitting project or for playing with color work. They're kind of like candy for the yarn lover in your life!

We've got some fun stocking stuffers, too. The Sew in the City sewing kits are compact and practical, great for the young adults on your list who might need to do a little mending now that they're out in the world (or off to college). We've just restocked our oh-so-popular Rainbow Unicorn Embroidery Scissors -- get them while you can! These little pocket notepads from Moda Fabrics are great for jotting lists or notes on the go. And who doesn't love these Seam Fix Mini Seam Rippers? Great for keeping in your purse or class tote for "unsewing" at a moment's notice!

Of course, our Intown Quilters Fabric & Yarn gift certificates are a one-size-fits-all option for everyone on your list. They're available in any denomination! Order by 4 p.m. Thursday, 12/20, to have one mailed and until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, 12/23, to order online with in-store pick up. We'll email a printable option if you purchase online after then. We even have specific gift certificates for our Quiltmaking 101 and/or Sewing 101 classes to make it easy for you to jump right into a beginner class or give that special someone who has been wanting to learn! Sewing 101 is designed to help beginners get familiar with a sewing machine and working with fabric and patterns. Quiltmaking 101 is geared toward folks who want to make their first quilt, taking them through the entire process from cutting to piecing to quilting and binding. We've scheduled the next sessions of these classes, so you can kick off the new year with a new skill. If those dates don't work for your schedule, don't fret: You can purchase a certificate that you have until 5/30/19 to redeem to take one of these classes. Grab your class gift certificate now!

Ready for the next step in your crafting? We've got classes for that, too! Whether you're ready to learn how to knit or crochet, explore foundation paper piecing, or tackle a new sewing project, there's a class for that -- and you can sign up and save on all of them until 9 pm on Monday, 12/31/2018! Our class fees have stayed relatively unchanged for many years and will go up in the new year so now is your last chance to lock in lower pricing. Knitting/Crocheting Classes

Please note: We have added a $1 charge for all our Sit & Knit sessions so that we may be able to collect a list of who will be coming ahead of time (the system won't let us take sign-ups for free) and that way we can let you know if something happens to prevent us having a teacher there. Please do register for the specific session you want to come to, to let us know if you will be joining.

Knitting 101 by reservation
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for $40 (sale for $35) prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. We are also happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.

We have our IQ loyalty program, which is good for 20% off all regularly priced merchandise. Since launching our new computerized point-of-sale system, we are changing from paper cards to an electronic rewards system. No more forgetting your cards at home! We are happy to add your existing IQ cards to our system; just bring them in with your name and email address written on them.

We do occasionally give out coupons during shop hop and other special events like quilt shows. Coupons cannot be used on special orders or sale items, cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.
