April 2, 2019

Spring is in full bloom here in sunny metro Atlanta and we've got a bit of spring fever when it comes to crafty endeavors. If you've been itching to dive into something new, give our class calendar a look and sign up to learn a new technique or start a new project. If you've always wanted to learn how to make a quilt, you can get started as soon as Saturday with Dave Bellevue in our Quiltmaking 101 class. Dave takes you through the entire process of making a quilt including quilting and binding it! We've also scheduled sessions of Fabric Painting and Dyeing, Quiltmaking 102, Hand Embroidery 102Sewing 101 and Collage Wall Hanging Quilt. Regina Carter will be here later this month for our first-ever What Your Longarm Quilter Wish You Knew talk, which promises to give you all the info you need before sending your quilt top off to be professionally machine quilted.

If you follow us on Facebook, you likely saw ">a post we shared about knitting and crocheting nests for a bird rescue. We had such a great response that we've decided to make this Saturday's Sit and Knit session a nest-making session. Join us as we knit and crochet for a good cause!

Congratulations to the big prize winners from the 20th anniversary of the Greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop: Grand Prize - Patricia Nelson , First Prize - Cat Crain, Second Prize - Tanis Ockwell, and Third Prize - Marty Louradour. Head over to the hop's Facebook page to see even more bonus winners (a total of 20 prizes!) from this year's event. Make sure you "like" the page, too, so you can stay up to date on next year's event.

    Happy stitching,
    Sarah & the IQF&Y crew

Please do register for the specific session you want to come to, to let us know if you will be joining.

Knitting 101 by reservation
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. We are also happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
