April 19, 2019

Easter and Passover are this weekend and we hope you are spending the holidays you observe with those you love. IQF&Y will be closed this Sunday, 4/21, so our crew can be with their families and friends.

Of course, we are open between now and then and even have some fun things scheduled at the shop. If you have or plan to send a quilt top to a professional for long-arm machine quilting, you won't want to miss Saturday's What Your Longarm Quilter Wished You Knew with Regina Carter. Regina is an award-winning longarm quilter and will be sharing tips and valuable information for anyone who sends out quilt tops for machine quilting. Don't miss out as spaces are limited!

The Kaffetastic Rainbow Star Quilt Along will be kicking off before you know it! We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the fabrics next month so we can begin cutting all the kits. It's not too late to take part and you have two colorways to choose from for your quilt: Bold or Sunset. Participants who purchase a kit from us get some great Kaffe swag (while supplies last), as well as weekly finisher prizes. We'll also be hosting weekly sit-and-sews for all the Kaffetastic Rainbow Star Quilt Along participants so you can work on your quilt alongside others who are sewing it. Pre-order your kit today!

There's never been a better time to take a class at IQF&Y! We've got some fun sewing, quilting and even hand embroidery classes on the schedule, as well as our always popular Fabric Painting & Dyeing class. Sign up today and learn something new from one of our enthusiastic and experienced teachers.  Register now for these classes (scroll down to the Classes section for more information):

Knitting 101 by reservation
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. We are also happy to set up a class for you though or private lessons that work better for your schedule. Email us to let us know your wishes.
