May 16, 2019

Today has inspired a giveaway at the shop! For the next 20 customers who make a purchase in the shop, we will let you pick a free fat quarter from new fabric we've gotten recently.

We've just gotten in some new quilt samples that we've been eagerly awaiting. It's just so much fun to see how the fabric and pattern we've picked becomes a quilt! Our new Disappearing Dinos works as a large quilt for the young dino lover in your life and our sample even works as a double-sided quilt with a panel pieced into the back. We've made it easy for you to make your quilt the same way with our backing kit.

International Quilt Market is going on in Kansas City this week and while we are skipping the industry trade show, we've already ordered lots of things that will be debuting there. Now's your chance to get first dibs on some of those amazing future fabric lines, too, and save 15% through Thursday, 5/30/19! We can't wait to welcome 68 bolts of Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics in August. Kaffe, Brandon Mably and Philip Jacobs create some of our favorite textiles and the new and re-colored favorites from this collection are amazing. You can save 15% on your preorder of the upcoming Kaffe Collective fabrics with the coupon code SAVE15NOW.

Tula Pink's creativity is endless, as her new line, Monkey Wrench, clearly shows. Parrots, frogs, bananas and, yes, monkeys, dance across the fabric in all their Tula technicolor glory. There are even three coordinating wide backing fabrics featuring even more bananas! (Mary was babbling about banana dresses when we were looking at the fabric!) Tula's new Sunrise Quilt kit pulls together Monkey Wrench with some coordinating Pom Poms, Tent Stripes and Tula solids. If you love Tula and/or English paper piecing, you won't want to miss it. Save 15% on your pre-order of the upcoming Tula Pink line and quilt kit with the coupon code SAVE15NOW, through 5/30/19.

If you've been thinking about signing up for our upcoming Fabric Painting & Dyeing class, what are you waiting for? This is a great chance to spend a day with a talented textile artist and play with a variety of paints and tools. We're lucky to get Casey Green for a full day workshop and we think you'll leave the class inspired and ready to paint all the things!

We've got some great classes coming up soon, whether you want to explore quilt design software or just spend some time knocking out your UFOs. Register now for these classes (scroll down to the Classes section for more information):

Summer will be here before we know it and that means the return of the Row by Row Experience. We are again a participating shop and can't wait to share the RxR fun with you! This year's Row by Row kicks off June 21. Mark your calendar and "Taste the Experience" with IQF&Y.

We are also looking forward to this year's Georgia Celebrates Quilts, the East Cobb Quilters' Guild 17th Biennial Quilt Show. We've got lots of great things planned for our booth. Be sure to come see us during the show, which takes place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily June 6-8 at the Cobb County Civic Center.

KAFFETASTIC QUILTALONG

The Kaffetastic Rainbow Star Quilt Along will be kicking off early next month. We only have a few kits left. Click here to see the detailed list of the fabrics included in the Bold or Sunset kits that you can use in any way you choose. You can make the quilts shown here, or you can design your own quilt with the fabric. We also have a few ideas for some other kits we can put together for you like a mixture of Tula Pink fabric or maybe a Jen Kingwell version and even batiks would make a great quilt.

There will be weekly Sunday sewing days to help you make regular progress with the goal of finishing a quilt top (or two) this summer. We plan to try to have a day to cut out your fabric on June 2nd, too, so you can be ready to sew when the QAL kicks off the following week.

Participants who purchase a kit from us get some great swag (while supplies last) and a discount on all Kaffe Fassett (or whatever type of fabric you choose for your alternate kit) products for the duration of the QAL, as well as weekly finisher prizes.
Pre-order your kit now! Come see us or call us to discuss alternate fabric options.

This group will meet on the 1st Saturday from 9:30am-1pm. $90 for the year or $15 per month if you would like to pay monthly.

UFO Sew Day
Saturday, 5/18/19, 1:30-5 pm $20
Why not spend a day tackling those UFOs that never seem to make it to the top of your to-do list? We'll have a teacher on hand to answer questions and help you mark off your quilting UFO list. Hosted by Mary Lou Mojonnier

#MeMadeMay Sew Day
Tuesday, 5/21/19, 4-8 pm $10

This is a one-day workshop where you will learn how use the various kinds of fabric paints commercially available. It is for all levels of artistic skill. If you don’t feel you have confidence in drawing or painting, it doesn’t matter in this class, you will have a great time and go home with some very beautiful creative fabrics. It’s fabric-making art camp! Additional $10 materials fee (cash only) paid to teacher on the day of the class. Taught by Casey Green.

Design Your First Quilt With EQ8
Saturday, 6/15/19, 2-3:30 pm, $45
Design your first quilt using the leading quilt designing software, EQ8. Knitting/Crocheting Classes

Two-at-a-Time Socks, Toe Up
Sundays, 5/19, 6/2 and 6/23, 12:30-2:30 pm $75
Avoid "second sock syndrome" by knitting your next pair of socks two-at-a-time on circular needles using the Magic Loop technique! We'll start toe up, which makes it even easier to check the fit of your socks as you go. Please note, this is an intermediate knitting class. Students should be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and working in the round. No prior sock knitting experience is required. Taught by Mary Abreu.

Tuesday evening Sit & Stitch (Yarn)
Every Tuesday, 5-8 pm
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting.

Thursday Sit & Stitch (Yarn)
Thursdays, 10 am-1 pm
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting.

Saturday Sit & Stitch (Yarn)
Every other Saturday, 10 am-1 pm (next date: 5/18/2019)
Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting.

Knitting 101 by reservation
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit or we can set up a time that works better for your schedule. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. If you would like to set up a private one-on-one, sign up online and then email us to let us know what dates work for you.

COUPONS
Our IQF&Y loyalty program earns you points towards a 20% off reward good on all in-stock, regularly price merchandise. Best of all, it's all done electronically -- no more paper cards to keep up with! Still have one of our old paper IQ cards? We are happy to add your existing IQ cards to our system; just bring them in with your name and email address written on them.

We do occasionally give out coupons during shop hop and other special events like quilt shows. Coupons cannot be used on special orders or sale items, cannot be combined and there are no rain checks.
