KAFFETASTIC QUILTALONG
|
|
The Kaffetastic Rainbow Star Quilt Along will be kicking off early next month. We only have a few kits left. Click here to see the detailed list of the fabrics included in the Bold or Sunset kits that you can use in any way you choose. You can make the quilts shown here, or you can design your own quilt with the fabric. We also have a few ideas for some other kits we can put together for you like a mixture of Tula Pink fabric or maybe a Jen Kingwell version and even batiks would make a great quilt.
There will be weekly Sunday sewing days to help you make regular progress with the goal of finishing a quilt top (or two) this summer. We plan to try to have a day to cut out your fabric on June 2nd, too, so you can be ready to sew when the QAL kicks off the following week.
Participants who purchase a kit from us get some great swag (while supplies last) and a discount on all Kaffe Fassett (or whatever type of fabric you choose for your alternate kit) products for the duration of the QAL, as well as weekly finisher prizes. Pre-order your kit now! Come see us or call us to discuss alternate fabric options.

English Paper-Piecing Club
First Saturday of the month (next date 6/1/19), 9:30 am-1 pm $15 Sometimes it is good to take a break from doing everything fast. English paper piecing is a great way to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. This is the time where you can bring in any project that you are working on or want to begin working on and we can help/encourage/get inspired by each other. This group will meet on the 1st Saturday from 9:30am-1pm. $90 for the year or $15 per month if you would like to pay monthly.
Sewing 101 Saturday, 6/1/19, 9 am-noon, $70 Whether you've never sewn before or just need a refresher because you haven't sewn in years, our Sewing 101 class will get you stitching in no time! This class covers all the basics including how to thread your sewing machine (including how to wind a bobbin), sewing terminology, essential tools, how to read a pattern and more. You'll leave the class with a small, finished project and an enthusiasm for your new hobby! Taught by Mary Abreu.
Design Your First Quilt With EQ8 Saturday, 6/15/19, 2-3:30 pm, $45 Design your first quilt using the leading quilt designing software, EQ8. Bring your laptop with EQ8 installed, any inspiration fabric and your notebook and Sarah Oliver will help you work through the process of designing your quilt. Students should have taken our introductory EQ8 class or already be familiar with the program. Fabric Painting & Dyeing Saturday, 7/13/19, 10 am-4 pm, $100 date change! Have you ever wished you had a certain fabric for a project and just could not find something that matched your vision? This class is a great way to learn how to alter fabric (you can bring an ugly piece from your stash to work on) to create a different piece that works for you. Don't miss an opportunity to learn from Casey Green, as she is so talented with this art form. She spends hours prepping the class for you and has the classroom filled with all kinds of supplies for you to play with to help you decide which supplies and processes you like the best and want to explore further. Additional $10 materials fee (cash only) paid to teacher on the day of the class. Taught by Casey Green.
Knitting/Crocheting Classes
Two-at-a-Time Socks, Toe Up Sundays, 5/19, 6/2 and 6/23, 12:30-2:30 pm $75 Avoid "second sock syndrome" by knitting your next pair of socks two-at-a-time on circular needles using the Magic Loop technique! We'll start toe up, which makes it even easier to check the fit of your socks as you go. Please note, this is an intermediate knitting class. Students should be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and working in the round. No prior sock knitting experience is required. Taught by Mary Abreu.
Tuesday evening Sit & Stitch (Yarn)
Every Tuesday, 5-8 pm Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting.
Thursday Sit & Stitch (Yarn)

Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! This is great for beginners especially, as knitting near more experienced knitters allows for you to get immediate help with questions and mistakes which then helps you learn to recognize mistakes yourself and gives you the practice time to get better with your knitting.
Saturday Sit & Stitch (Yarn) Every other Saturday, 10 am-1 pm (next date: 6/1/2019) Drop in any time during the posted hours for some yarn fun with friends! Crocheters are welcome, too! Knitting 101 by reservation You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit or we can set up a time that works better for your schedule. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. If you would like to set up a private one-on-one, sign up online and then email us to let us know what dates work for you.
