The holidays are upon us and we've been helping lots of folks pick out what they need to finish handmade gifts for the holidays or perfect items for the crafters in their lives. It's the most magical time of the year! This is the season for giving and we have an amazing gift for someone special! Help us give a brand-new sewing machine with accessories plus some fabric and other items to someone who really needs it. We want to pay it forward and help someone, whether they've experienced a significant loss or a major change in life circumstances or maybe a young person who is interested in sewing for college or a charity project and doesn't have a machine. We need your help to find the right person for this life-changing gift. Please email us your nominations for someone in the metro Atlanta area who would benefit from this giveaway and why you are nominating her/him. Scott Fortunoff of Jaftex Corp. (FreeSpirit Fabrics) sent us the machine and a few additional items and we've added to it to really make the gift special for someone who could use it.

Knitting/Crocheting Classes
Cornelia Hamilton: Drop Stitch Openwork Saturday, 1/25/2020, 1:30-4:30 pm, $70 While the idea of knitting shaped holes with columns between them may sound exciting, the idea of weaving in ends does not! During this workshop, you will learn Cornelia Hamilton's new Dropstitch Openwork™ method for working columns between open geometric shapes in your knitting without breaking the yarn. You will have time to swatch different shapes and we will talk about how to use them in your knitting. A good understanding of basic knitting is all you need to have! Taught by Cornelia Hamilton.
Knitting 101 by reservation You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit or we can set up a time that works better for your schedule. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. If you would like to set up a private one-on-one, sign up online and then email us to let us know what dates work for you.
