June 26, 2020

   Happy Friday,

Did you see our Facebook live "unboxing" video this week? We got in 80 new bolts of Kona solids this week and they are sooooooo pretty. They are only 5 yard bolts though, so make sure to grab what you want now before you can't get some. There are some pretty neutrals included and of course lots of bright ones. This photo is a mix of some of the new ones and some old, that a customer ordered 1/2 yards of this morning. You can still see the video HERE and you do not have to have a FB account to see it. We will be open for curbside pick-up today and phone help until 2pm today and then back tomorrow from 10 am to 3pm. Please take note of these hours, as you cannot pickup past 2 pm today and 3pm tomorrow. We will then be closed on Sunday and Monday and back in at 10am on Tuesday. We will be CLOSED July 3rd, through the 7th for a much needed break, so get your supplies for some long weekend projects ordered ahead!

Make sure to check out our selection of our yarn on SALE, which you can find by going to our "Sale" page and typing "yarn" in the search bar to narrow sale items down. Please help give this yarn new homes!

We know Georgia's governor has lifted the shelter in place order and many are ready to get out and about. We have not reopened for in-store shopping at this time, though. We continue to monitor and evaluate and would prefer to to help you virtually with both curbside pick up (remain in your car when you arrive and call us at 404-634-6924) and shipping of your orders! We have started RESERVATION only, in-store shopping for now with a reservation fee ($15) that goes towards your purchase. Your reservation is for up to 2 people so you may bring one other person with you under your reservation (adult or child). Right now we only have a few spots a day while we see how things go. All people inside the shop must wear a mask and bring their own hand sanitizer to use! You can reserve your spot HERE.

By coming inside Intown Quilters you acknowledge and agree to the following:

I am aware of the existence of the risk of illness due to Covid19 by shopping in public.

I have not experienced symptoms of any illness in the past 14 days.

I have not been, nor any member of my household, diagnosed with Covid19 in the past 30 days.

I have a mask to wear and my own antibacterial hand sanitizer to bring into the shop to use.

You must wear a mask and bring your own hand sanitizer inside the shop and use it once you are inside.

You must maintain 6 feet of distance.

Payment is by credit card only or you can send payment through PayPal when you are in the shop.

Why are we doing this reservation fee? Because we are all still very worried about the spike in cases of Covid19 that are already happening in our area, and want to keep your and our risk level as low as possible. We need to keep the number of customers inside the shop to a minimum and are only offering this shopping time to those who are committed to purchasing something from us. We hope to reopen to browsing sometime in July.

The latest update on the delivery of Tula's True Colors collection by Tula Pink is that it is now shipped yesterday to the West Coast and today to the middle and east coast so we may get it by Tuesday, we hope, or it will be the following week. You can still preorder on our website, both yardage and fat quarter bundles. The fabric was supposed to start shipping to stores in early June, but there have been shipping delays for most fabric these days due to Covd19. Finger crossed! Get your order in ahead of the delivery and we will get yours cut before the bolts ever hit the floor!

If you are wondering the next time Regina Carter will be coming to drop off and pick up quilts, it will be Saturday July 11th so mark your calendars! You have 2 weeks to get your quilt tops done and ready for Regina. If you would like to send our Quilter's Dream batting with your tops to be quilted, check our stock soon and if we are out of something you need, give us a call or email because there is still time to get batting in for you before Regina comes.

For information on making face masks, check out our
Charity Projects page. Please also share our GoFundMe fundraiser with your friends and family who might like to help out with masks but cannot help with the sewing of them. Our fundraiser is helping to pay for the fabric that we are providing to anyone who asks (over $5000 given away so far) and to supplement the pay for the shop employees during this time of limited work hours.

We appreciate the support you've shown us during these uncertain times. Whether you are an essential worker during this crisis or doing your part to #stayhome, you are in our thoughts!

    Happy stitching,
    Sarah & the IQF&Y crew

Virtual Crafting Time

Sandra has worked out a way to have virtual craft time using Zoomwhich is a free, online platform for spending time together for things like virtual meetings and gatherings. You can sign up for our virtual Crafting Alone, Together! It is great to connect in this time of separateness. Sandra is reinstating our regularly scheduled Sit & Knit times, but inviting all crafters to join our virtual get together. Join us via the Zoom application, either by video or audio connection. You can join anywhere and anytime on a laptop, tablet or phone. Sandra also has private one-on-one Zoom help for a fee for those who need some extra knitting help. Shoot us an email if you would like more information.

Quilting/Sewing Classes

Please note: All classes are postponed for the time being.

Check Calendar for availability $80
Reserve time for a one-on-one lesson with one of our teachers to work on a project. More dates will be added so check back often.

Quilting Private Lessons
Check Calendar for availability $120
Reserve time for a one-on-one lesson with one of our teachers to work on a project. More dates will be added so check back often.

Knitting/Crocheting Classes

Knitting 101 by reservation
You can learn how to get started knitting during our weekly sit and knit or we can set up a time that works better for your schedule. Just reserve your spot for $40 prior to that day (either in store, online or by phone) and we will make sure there is someone there dedicated to teaching you how for the first hour of the morning sit & knit. Yarn and knitting needles included! We've found it is a great way for folks to learn. They can then sit with the teacher for awhile knitting and get help learning how to fix little mistakes as they arise. We've had great feedback on teaching knitting this way versus a separate class. Reservations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session. If you would like to set up a private one-on-one, sign up online and then email us to let us know what dates work for you.

Norah's Vintage Afghan
A virtual knitalong (for the time being)
Our current shop knitalong, Norah's Vintage Afghan, with just a little bit of tweaking has moved online. Sandra is using Zoom for her weekly knitalong meetings. The regularly scheduled meetings are on Sunday afternoons from 1:30-4:40pm, and you sign up here. Once you have signed up, you will be emailed the information on how to join in. In addition, Sandra will provide instructions on the 1st and 3rd Sundays to set up each block in the Knit Companion App along with any tips she thinks will help. Led by Sandra Mazliah.
