Happy Friday to you and not so much to us!
We have to announce that due to Covid19 exposure, we we feel we need to take extra precautions and not have any exposed employees, or any customers at all, in the shop for some "undetermined" time to come. We will have one employee at the shop with Regina Carter tomorrow so that Regina can hand out and take in her long-arm quilts, and so that Sandy can deliver any orders to your trunk or back window that you have already ordered for curb-side pickup.
Effective immediately though, we are CLOSED for any curbside or in-store business until further notice. We have turned off the curb-side pick up option on the website and ask that you please choose shipping only if you want something quickly. Since there are only two of us that were not exposed, it will be hard to run the shop in any other way than as an online only shop with shipping option only for now. If we do find that anyone becomes ill, we will then stop online for a period of time, but for now we continue with online and shipping.
We still have a flat $8 shipping rate for orders under $100 and FREE shipping for order over $100. To offset any shipping cost to you, use the coupon code of COVID19 to get 20% off your order until we decide to turn the coupon off. Enjoy some discounted shopping on us!
We will plan to have a healthy employee cut and ship any orders as long as we have a healthy employee. We will wait 24 hours (or more in the case of weekend orders) to ship orders once they are packaged just to give the added protection of time between human interaction with your fabric and it being received by you. We do understand the need for the safety of all and trust you will make decisions based on the information we have given you. We use USPS Priority mail for most shipping (unless large sized items) and have found folks are getting things in just a few days from the time it, even on the west coast, so with our added 24 hours delay, it may take 2 to 3 days for local and east coast and up to 5 to 6 days to the west coast. You will still get very speedy service from us compared to what we are hearing about other online vendors, so stick with us please. If you are in urgent need of something, shoot us an email and we will see if we can expedite shipping or meet you at the shop if we are able. Thank you for your understanding and patience with us!
So to reiterate...if you have an order you have already placed that would like to pick up, you have between 10 am and 3 pm tomorrow, Saturday 7/11 to come pick it up. We are happy to hold orders until things get figured out but want you to have an option to come grab it if you need it. Call the shop when you pull up and a Masked Quilter will run your order out to you. These hours are only for folks who have ordered already. Please do not come to the store to shop or place new orders for pick up.
If you are hoping to pick up or drop off a quilt to Regina Carter, she will be at the shop this Saturday July 11th from 10:30 am to about 2:30 pm, so mark your calendars! All quilts being left for Regina, should always be in a decent bag of some sort, with your name and phone number and a description of what you are sending attached to the quilt inside of the bag. Then please write Regina Carter on the outside of the bag if you are bringing it before Saturday. Please do not bring them to us to bag and label for you. This is something you should do ahead of time to protect your quilt in the traveling process. Please remain in your car on Saturday and call the shop or Regina to let her know you are outside to drop off or pick up.
If you missed our email from yesterday, then read on...
We do continue to order and receive some new merchandise and just this week received 39 new 5 yard bolts of Robert Kaufman Kona solids, plus we expect to get a larger bolt of Kona black today or tomorrow. We are slowly on our way to having the entire line of solid colors RK makes, although we will sell out of some before others all arrive, so we will never have the entire line at one time. If you are ever unsure of a solid color you want to order to go with something else you are wording, you are welcome to place an order for the one you think matches and then put a note in when you check out, letting us know that you would like us to pick a similar color to match if the one you liked does not quite match. We have done that several times recently and found that another color matches just a little better than the one that a customer ordered. We can then, just switch the color easily on our end.
We also have our next order of the Creative Grids face-mask templates on the way and expected Tuesday. We have several of them already, so if you are hoping to get in on this shipment, you should grab one quickly. We also have a few face-mask extenders in stock so check those out and have added some fun new patterns of all sorts to the shop, which you can find in the new arrivals section or by going to our patterns page.
We have received our order of Deer Christmas Kits from Moda. They are so fun and we only ordered a few so don't miss out on this fun Holiday quilt kit. We also have several other precuts from The Deer Christmas this line and expect to get some fabric in for bindings and backing later in the summer.
We received the Tula Pink True Colors line Thursday. All pre-orders were cut and shipped or are ready for pick up today. We got in one extra bolt of each Fairy Dust on Friday so if you want some larger pieces of those, we now have more in the system and we still have some bolts of Monkey Wrench and Homemade plus the all the other new True Colors bolts (but only a few years left of a few of them).
We know many of our yarn folks have heard about the Berroco 123Dropship program where you can order Berroco yarn from us that we don't have in stock and Berroco will ship it straight to you (usually very quickly). Berroco has been putting together some kits and we have added one to our website for order called the Zig Zag Jardin using the Millefiore yarn in a 50% Wool, 50% Acrylic blend. You can also order the Zig Zag Arcade kit made with one color of the Berroco Medina yarn, which is a 37% Cotton, 36% Acrylic, 27% Viscose blend perfect for summer knitting. If you have not seen all the yarns that you can purchase through us but have shipped straight from Berroco, check them out here. There are so many different fiber blends including their Modern Cotton, Modern Cotton DK, Liana, Cambria, Remix Light and Remix, (linen blends) that would be great for summer yarn work!
We know Georgia's governor has lifted the shelter in place order and many are ready to get out and about. We have not reopened for in-store shopping at this time, though. We continue to monitor and evaluate, and the numbers are growing like crazy right now, so we would still prefer to to help you virtually with both curbside pick up (remain in your car when you arrive and call us at 404-634-6924) and shipping of your orders! We have started RESERVATION only, in-store shopping for now with a reservation fee ($15) that goes towards your purchase. Your reservation is for up to 2 people so you may bring one other person with you under your reservation (adult or child). Right now we only have a few spots a day while we see how things go. All people inside the shop must wear a mask and bring their own hand sanitizer to use! You can reserve your spot HERE.
By coming inside Intown Quilters you acknowledge and agree to the following:
I am aware of the existence of the risk of illness due to Covid19 by shopping in public.
I have not experienced symptoms of any illness in the past 14 days.
I have not been, nor any member of my household, diagnosed with Covid19 in the past 30 days.
I have a mask to wear and my own antibacterial hand sanitizer to bring into the shop to use.
You must wear a mask and bring your own hand sanitizer inside the shop and use it once you are inside.
You must maintain 6 feet of distance.
Payment is by credit card only or you can send payment through PayPal when you are in the shop.
Why are we doing this reservation fee? Because we are all still very worried about the spike in cases of Covid19 that are already happening in our area, and want to keep your and our risk level as low as possible. We need to keep the number of customers inside the shop to a minimum and are only offering this shopping time to those who are committed to purchasing something from us. We hope to reopen to browsing sometime in July.
For information on making face masks, check out our Charity Projects page. Please also share our GoFundMe fundraiser with your friends and family who might like to help out with masks but cannot help with the sewing of them. Our fundraiser is helping to pay for the fabric that we are providing to anyone who asks (over $5000 given away so far) and to supplement the pay for the shop employees during this time of limited work hours.
We appreciate the support you've shown us during these uncertain times. Whether you are an essential worker during this crisis or doing your part to #stayhome, you are in our thoughts!
