We only have a few weeks to go before the New Year and there are a few things of note we need to tell you about like our holiday hours and a sale we have going on. First off, we will be closed on 12/24 and 12/25 for Christmas, then open 12/26 through 12/29 when we will close again for inventory from 12/30 through 1/2. We will open again on 1/3 at 10am for the 2013 year.
Now for the sale part.....we are having a sale this week on all Christmas fabric. Our Christmas fabric is 40% off and our Christmas kits are 25% this week only when they will be packed away until next year when they will return at regular price, so this week is your opportunity to get a discount on any of our Christmas kits we have left. We will have an end of the year sale 12/26-12/29 so make sure to watch for your email on Monday to find out the details of that sale (we don't even know what it is going to be yet).
If you missed our Holiday Open House and the debut of our two new 2013 Block of the Month programs, they are now explained below in the 2013 Clubs section and are on the website for signing up. You can visit the website here for more details and to sign up online.
If you did not read about this in past emails, we have a new email program that is a part of our new website. We have been trying to get the template together to start using it because many of our customers are signed up for the new system only and not this one we are still using weekly. I am still not happy with the new system but want to start emailing with it because many have not heard anything from us in months. If you receive two emails from us for awhile, please be patient with us, because months ago your names were taken from the old system and added to the new one, so you are in both systems for now. We will either switch soon or decide we are sticking with this one and then you should only get one email again.
Sarah and the IQ Gang
I know some of you are wondering about our new clubs for 2013. We have a few in the works and are still thinking up a few more.
Scrap Club Meets Block of the Month 2013
This queen sized scrap quilt (this is the picture so far which is not done yet) is open to all skill levels and is a wonderful opportunity to explore color and value. The BOM is available in two fabric options: BOM with fabric included priced at $225, or a charge for the class without fabric of $75, using your own stash. Taffy McLaughlin will lead this BOM on the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10am. You can sign up online here.

Sarah Oliver and Allyson Shelton will be teaching 12 modern blocks from the book, Modern Blocks by Susanne Woods. These blocks will be in solid fabrics. Different techniques will be taught, from cutting efficiently, to curves, to paper piecing. You will have the option of choosing a different color background than the grey Sarah and Allyson are using. The BOM is available in two fabric options: BOM with fabric included priced at $125 (this option includes the book), or a charge for the class without fabric of $65 (the book is sold separately with this option), using your own stash. Sarah and Allyson will lead this BOM on the 2nd Saturday from 10:30-12:30. You can sign up online here.
By Hand-the Art of Slow Quilting
Sometimes it is good to take a break from doing everything fast. Handwork is a great way to slow down and enjoy the process of creating. When you do handwork, you can often take it with you to take advantage of times when you are just waiting for something else, you can actually talk to friends and family while working on your projects, and it is relaxing. We will get together and work on quilting projects by hand - hand piecing, English paper piecing, hand appliqué, hand quilting. This is the time where you can bring in any project that you are working on or want to begin working on and we can help/encourage/get inspired by each other. This group will meet on the 3rd Saturday from 9:30am-1pm. There will be a $65 charge for the year which can be prorated if you start after January.
We are working on a regular club for kids. Email us if you are interested with a little information about your child and his or her experience and interests.
Classes are listed below and on the website.
Don't put off signing up for a class you are interested in because some fill up quickly and you don't want to miss out because you forgot to sign up right away.
*You should receive a class supply list about 2 weeks prior to the class by email unless you have stopped by the shop to get one in person.
*Class cancellation policy
You can cancel a class up to two weeks prior to class for a full refund. We will only cancel a class if we have to. If you miss a class we can try to get you in the next class with a fee (fee is determined by the length of the class) to cover the lost spot in that class.

Supplies will cost around $150-$200 on top of the class fee, but the cutting implements, which are about half that estimate, you will need for all your future quilting. We may be able to find some loaner tools for you if you really are not sure about future quilting but you will then need to come into the shop in between classes to use tools for your homework.
This class fills up quickly so don't hesitate! Learn to make a lap size quilt from beginning to end. In this class, the intimidation of quilting will be eliminated. You will be taught many techniques and rules, such as cutting, strip piecing, seam allowance, pin-basting, quilting, binding and more. The class is taught in 4 sessions (4 hours each) and requires homework and a sewing machine. A sense of humor is also helpful. Taught by Maxine Moore.

More classes will be scheduled regularly so check the website often.
